Gate stands for G.ifted A.nd T.alented E.ducation. Its for 4th, 5th, and some 6th graders. The way it works is that in third grade you get to take the Cogat test. If you score really well then you would be qualifyed for GATE, or you can score well on more standerdized tests and that would also qualify you for GATE.
